Walk in HIV and STI testing

The Student Wellness Center (SWC) and the Multicultural Center (MCC) offers the OraQuick Advance Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody test (ADVANCE) for FREE. We are able to do this from the support of Undergraduate Student Government (USG), the Ohio Department of Health, and Columbus Public Health.

Students have 4 options to be tested for HIV antibodies:

1. By appointment: Free testing is available throughout the year (Mondays-Fridays) by appointment. To schedule a 1-hour appointment to take the test, please phone 292.4527 or stop in B130 (Student Wellness) to schedule an appointment.

2. Weekly walk-in testing in SWC (B130 RPAC) are offered on Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. All walk-in testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis and the last client is 30 minutes prior to the end time. NOTE: walk-in STI testing will be offered in the SWC every 3rd Thursday of the month (HIV testing is every Thursday).

3. Weekly walk-in testing at the MCC are offered on Tuesdays from 5-9 p.m. All walk-in testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis and the last client is 30 minutes prior to the end time.

4. Outreaches are offered to events that would like to include testing. They occur somewhere on campus, outside the SWC or MCC.  All outreaches are walk-in, on a first-come, first-serve basis and the last client is 30 minutes prior to the end time.

Both the walk-in and appointment-based HIV testing use the same test, which is the OraQuick ADVANCE HIV 1/2 Antibody test.

NO BLOOD, NO NEEDLES,  and RESULTS IN 20-40 MINUTES OF TESTING.
