Fueling Your Fleet Feet

Have you ever thought of running a 5K, half marathon or full marathon? How you fuel your body from the training process to race day is key for optimal performance. This presentation will provide an overview of how to properly hydrate and nourish your body to fuel yourself throughout the training process, including meal and snack ideas and suggested timing and amounts of food needed to cross the finish line!

Altering the Algorithm: Social Media's Influence on Body Image

Social media can influence us in both helpful and harmful ways with numerous studies revealing a relationship between social media and disordered eating. This presentation will explore the pros and cons of social media on body image and identify practical steps for creating a healthier experience with social media and the relationship with food and our bodies.

Beyond the Surface: Exploring Wellness Beyond Weight

Body dissatisfaction is a widespread issue that affects college students of all shapes and sizes. This presentation will explore factors that contribute to body dissatisfaction, weight bias and its harmful effects, myths around Body Mass Index and weight loss, and how movements like Health At Every Size® and Intuitive Eating help promote weight neutral approaches to health. Explore other Love Your Body Week events occurring the week of February 19-23.

How to Raise an Intuitive Eater

We’re all born intuitive eaters, but many factors disrupt our innate experience—especially diet culture. Parents want what’s best for their kids when it comes to eating and health, but some approaches can lead kids (and adults) to have an unhealthy relationship with food and their bodies. This presentation will explore how parents can help their kids, whether toddlers or teenagers, maintain or regain their ability to eat intuitively for a healthier, more positive experience with food.

Picky Eating: From Problem to Peaceful

Picky eating is frustrating and worrisome for parents. And although it's a normal part of development that usually improves as children get older, picky eating can also persist into adolescence and even adulthood. This presentation will explore how parents can positively navigate picky eating without pressure or bribes, and how older picky eaters can learn to overcome food fears and embarrassment and enjoy new foods.

Food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances have been on the rise, and with that, a myriad of approaches for identifying and treating symptoms – whether via medical testing, over-the-counter products, elimination diets, and more. This presentation will explore the differences between food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances, evidence-based methods for testing and diagnosing, and strategies for avoiding unwanted reactions while also meeting your nutritional needs.
