Wellness Ambassadors Presentation Cohort

Wellness Ambassadors in the Presentation Cohort are trained in a wide range of topic areas including: alcohol, other drugs, nutrition, stress, safer sex and relationship education and violence prevention. As a Wellness Ambassador in the Presentation Cohort, you will have the opportunity to select one of these areas to specialize in that aligns with your interests and goals.

Frequent presentation audiences include first-year students (First Year Success Series), second-year students (Second-Year Transformational Experience Program), Sorority and Fraternity Life (Standards of Excellence), on-campus residential students (Residence Life), and peers in classrooms and special events across campus.

  • Educate peers on harm reduction strategies to stay safe when drinking
  • Equip peers with knowledge on how to Party Smart
  • Provide alcohol alternative events and activities


  • Nutrition facts
  • Healthy dining options on and off campus
  • Links between nutrition and other areas of wellness
  • Campus and community resources related to nutrition, fitness and body image
  • Help peers feel empowered to make the healthy choices when dining on and off campus
  • Assist peers in understanding the recommended guidelines for physical fitness for adults ages 18-24
  • Give peers the tools to navigate grocery shopping and meal prep

Safer Sex

  • Safer sex data pertaining to the Ohio State community
  • How safer sex practices impact other areas of wellness
  • How to educate students on safer sex practices, regardless of sexual preferences
  • Campus and community resources related to sexual health
  • Educate peers on sexual health decision-making skills consistent with beliefs
  • Encourage sexually active students to utilize risk reduction measures 

Other Drugs 

  • Effects of misuse and abuse of prescription medication and illicit drugs including cannabis
  • Policies, procedures and laws surrounding tobacco and other drugs
  • How drug misuse and abuse impacts other areas of wellness
  • Campus and community resources related to other drugs
  • Empower peers to help change campus culture surrounding cannabis and other drugs
  • Educate peers on how to seek out college recovery services 


  • Potential sources of stress and lack of sleep
  • How stress and resiliency can promote or prevent academic success, and how it impacts other areas of wellness
  • How the use of technology impacts daily life in both positive and negative ways
  • Information on simple technology use changes that can benefit sleep and combat procrastination
  • Campus and community resources for stress management and sleep
  • Educate peers on stress, resiliency and time management techniques
  • Equip peers with the tools to combat negative technology usage to achieve academic success and a healthy lifestyle
  • Provide peers with the ability to reframe the mental and physical reaction to stress 

Relationship Education and Violence Prevention

  • Facts regarding sexual violence and its impact on campus
  • Sexual violence prevention framework and strategies
  • Why violence prevention is important to individual and community well-being
  • Campus and community resources related to survivor support
  • Educate peers on consent, bystander intervention and healthy relationship skills
  • Help peers feel empowered in their relationships
  • Help peers feel empowered to prevent violence
