This semester, the Wellness Coaching team is offering a Nine Dimensions of Wellness drop-in workshop series over the course of nine weeks. Each week will focus on a different dimension of wellbeing. Workshops will involve an educational component and an activity to spark reflection and group discussion. All undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at Ohio State are welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity to work on wellness with your friends!

Workshops will be held on Tuesdays at 1-2 p.m. via Carmen Zoom.

Workshop Series Schedule:

  • Environmental Wellness: Tuesday, February 16, 1-2 p.m.

Environmental wellness is more than being green! Students will learn about various types of environments, in which they work, play, and live, and how they can structure their environments to suit their needs and promote their well-being.
  • Social Wellness: Tuesday, March 2, 1-2 p.m.

Social wellness can be hard to maintain during the COVID-19 pandemic, but don’t fear, Wellness Coaching is here! Students will learn how to navigate their social struggles, including feelings of loneliness and isolation, and stay connected with others within our socially distanced world.
  • Creative Wellness: Tuesday, March 9, 1-2 p.m.

Creative wellness doesn’t just have to do with arts and crafts, it can mean so much more! With the ongoing midterm season, students will learn how to find creative solutions to everyday problems, including how to overcome and prevent burnout.
  • Career Wellness: Tuesday, March 16, 1-2 p.m.

Career wellness encompasses the facet of our lives where we work: our majors, internships, jobs, and ongoing professional development. In this workshop, we will explore the factors that play into career wellness, including feelings of uncertainty and personal and professional values. We’ll also spend time constructing plans for managing career-related stress in the short-term and long-term.
  • Financial Wellness: Tuesday, March 23, 1-2 p.m.

Because our finances are closely tied to our basic needs, financial wellness has great potential to impact the other eight dimensions of wellness. In this workshop, we’ll discuss examples of these interactions and provide resources and strategies for navigating financial-related challenges and managing financial-related stress.

  • Spiritual Wellness: Tuesday, March 30, 1-2 p.m.

When you hear “spiritual wellness”, you may think of religion. It can also mean so much more! In this workshop, we will explore how spiritual wellness encompasses anything that gives your life greater meaning. We will also reflect on ways to have inner peace, no matter what’s happening in the external world.
  • Physical Wellness: Tuesday, April 6, 1-2 p.m.

How has COVID-19 has impacted your physical well-being? Maybe you’re working from home and not walking to classes like you used to. Maybe you’re not exercising at the gym, or perhaps you’re snacking more often throughout the day. In this workshop, we will discuss strategies to help us plan and promote our movement, nutrition, and sleep. Make sure to bring your weekly calendar/planner with you!
  • Intellectual Wellness: Tuesday, April 13, 1-2 p.m.

Online learning and working from home during COVID-19 has created new challenges for college students. In this workshop, we will discuss how the pandemic may have impacted our intellectual wellness, or everything connected to our learning. We’ll also reflect on strategies that can help us manage our time, reduce procrastination, and give ourselves compassion when we’re feeling overwhelmed with work.
  • Emotional Wellness: Tuesday, April 20, 1-2 p.m.
