Scarlet and Gray Tailgate (Overdose Awareness Day)

August 31, 2024

12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Located at the Richard C. Larkins Plaza between the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and RPAC

*Rain location is the RPAC Southwest Laawn near the Buckeye Bike Hub.

A tailgate party for Ohio State students and families with food, games and music! The Scarlet and Gray tailgates will begin 3 hours before kickoff and run up until gametime.

A Culture of Care: A Recovery Friendly Campus

Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB)

Located in Great Hall Meeting Room 4 at the Ohio Union

A recovery-friendly campus is a campus environment with a culture of acceptance and empowerment for students in or seeking recovery so that they feel not only comfortable asking for help but also celebrated by the campus community. Learn more about substance use on college campuses and what you can do to be an ally to someone in or seeking recovery. This training is part of the Wellness Wednesdays series offered to graduate and professional students through OUAB.

Carry Naloxone. Save a Life!

RPAC Meeting Room 3

The "Carry Naloxone. Save a Life" training provides participants with information on how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, administer the opioid overdose reversal drug, Naloxone, and educate the importance of harm reduction and its concepts. The training is designed for students, staff and faculty who are interested in possibly saving a life, in case of an emergency.

In collaboration with the Collegiate Recovery Program, join us OUTDOORS for an empowering yoga flow! In this FREE class, we will flow through a series of mindful movements. together that will leave you feeling restored, both mentally and physically. Show your support as an ally and help us celebrate the accomplishments of those in and seeking recovery.

Recovery is Spoken Here Recovery Ally Training

The Student Life Student Wellness Center's Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC), in partnership with the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery (HECAOD), is excited to offer Recovery is Spoken Here virtual trainings for faculty and staff members. Our aim is to foster an environment where students in or seeking recovery feel accepted by their peers, are empowered to live genuinely, feel comfortable asking for help and are celebrated by the Ohio State community. By becoming a Recovery Ally, you are declaring to students in or seeking recovery that you embody these ideals. This 1.5-hour training covers a high-level overview of addiction and recovery, addiction and recovery on campus, recovery friendly language, how to connect students with the CRC and ways to get involved as a Recovery Ally.
