Supporting Students

The Ohio State University is a resource rich campus with an overwhelming amount of services available to our student community. Oftentimes, it can be difficult to know where to turn to get the right support. To help the campus community navigate well-being related resources on our campus and ultimately support one another, the Student Life Student Wellness Center has created a comprehensive well-being resource guide to assist students, faculty and staff in finding the proper support resource on-campus. This easily searchable guide includes on-campus resources for undergraduate, graduate and professional students, relating to the nine dimensions of wellness, emergency response and diversity, equity and inclusion. This guide can be found in the top right-hand corner of this page.

Additionally, for employees interested in learning more about supporting student well-being, we encourage individuals to view and sign up for one of our Faculty and Staff Workshops and to check out the Teaching and Learning Resource Center.

Campus Data

In partnership with the Center for the Study of Student Life, the Student Life Student Wellness Center has been administering the Wellness Assessment since 2013. The Wellness Assessment is designed to give students a better understanding of their personal well-being and to provide them with wellness related resources that they can utilize at Ohio State. The Wellness Assessment is open year-round to all students, but the Center for the Study of Student Life (CSSL) takes a snapshot of the data each October to use for reporting purposes; this assessment is incentivized during the month of October. This data is utilized by the Student Wellness Center in making evidence informed decisions related to updating our current service offerings, budget distribution, and program development for populations in need.

We encourage faculty and staff to view past Wellness Assessment reports available on CSSL's website, which date back to 2016, to gain a better understanding of the state of well-being of the student community here are Ohio State. These reports include snapshots of greater campus community as well as a collection of focus population reports that give a better understanding of the unique wellness needs of our diverse campus community.

To help our data collection efforts during the month of October, the Student Wellness Center has a number of printed and virtual marketing materials available by request for departments to distribute to their student population. Departments interested in obtaining these materials can email Adrienne Wilson; while virtual materials are available for all, printed materials are distributed on a first come first serve basis.
