Students frequently confide in faculty and staff about personal challenges and difficult experiences. How we respond in those moments can shape whether a student feels heard, supported, and connected to help.Join Kaylee Enscoe from Counseling and Consultation Service and Erica Butler from Student Wellness as they discuss best practices for responding to student disclosures, supporting students with care, and navigating available campus resources. Gain tools and confidence to make meaningful connections when students need support most.

Session Three: Supporting Students When It Matters Most

When a student shares an experience of sexual violence, the response they receive can have a lasting impact. In this micro session, staff and faculty will learn best practices for providing trauma-informed support, responding with empathy, and creating a space where students feel safe and respected.
Participants will also gain a better understanding of their responsibilities as mandated reporters, what to do when a disclosure occurs, and how to connect students with campus and community resources. Join us to build your confidence, strengthen your skills, and learn how small moments of support can make a meaningful difference in a student's life.

- Create safer, more supportive interactions for students navigating difficult experiences.
- Guide students toward trusted campus resources that can help them heal, recover, and thrive.
- Respond to disclosures with confidence while understanding your role and responsibilities as an Ohio State mandated reporter.
Session Four: Leading with Hope for a Violence Free Future

Overview:
As faculty and staff, you can model bystander intervention for our campus community. Come hear OSU Student Wellness Coordinator, Erica Butler and SARNCO Prevention Coordinator, Richard Wright, speak about the fundamentals of bystander intervention. You will leave a stronger leader, more aware of the impact you have, and its potential to reduce interpersonal and sexual violence on campus.
Goals & Objectives:
By the end of this micro session, staff and faculty will be equipped to:
- Build awareness of how everyday actions can help prevent interpersonal and sexual violence.
- Learn practical bystander intervention strategies that empower safer and more supportive responses.
- Reflect on the influence they hold as faculty and staff in creating a campus culture rooted in hope, respect, and belonging.
- Leave with resources and actionable next steps to help foster a violence-free future.
Session Five: Creating a Campus Where Healthy Relationships Thrive

Overview:
Faculty and staff play an important role in shaping a campus culture where healthy relationships can thrive. In this session, participants will explore the foundations of healthy relationships, learn how dating violence can affect students, and discover practical ways to support prevention through everyday interactions beyond The Red Zone period. The session will focus on recognizing early warning signs, fostering supportive environments, and understanding how trusted campus employees can contribute to student safety and well-being.
Goals/Objectives:
By the end of this micro session, staff and faculty will be equipped to:
- Define key characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships among college students.
- Recognize common warning signs of dating violence and relationship abuse.
- Identify ways faculty and staff can contribute to prevention through everyday interactions with students.
- Understand their role in promoting a campus culture of respect, safety, and healthy relationships beyond The Red Zone period.
