Schedule a Nutrition Appointment

Nutrition Coaching is intended to help students identify any imbalances in their food intake and explore ways to optimize their nutrition needs. Visit the What is Nutrition Coaching and Nutrition Education pages for more information and resources.

1. Handouts

Complete the following handouts and bring them to your appointment or email them to nutrition@osu.edu. These can be found in the right side bar at the top of this page.

  • The Food Log is used to identify any dietary imbalances and explore ways to optimize your nutrition needs.
  • The Food Preferences is used for creating meal and snack ideas and is helpful if you have dietary limits (e.g. food allergies, "picky" eater) or preferences (e.g. plant-based).

2. Schedule a Session

The first session is 50 minutes and includes a nutrition assessment, education and goal setting. Follow-up appointments are available in 45-minute sessions for those who have completed a first session. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available.

Select from the following options:

Disordered Eating if you eat less than 1,200 calories per day, follow a short-term diet (e.g. keto), fast or skip meals, avoid eating when hungry, over-exercise, binge or purge, use laxatives or diet pills to lose weight, etc.

General Health if you want help with topics like establishing a healthy diet, mindful/intuitive eating, food allergies or intolerances, event training, health conditions (e.g. Hypothyroidism, acid reflux), etc.

Important Considerations:

  • If you need to reschedule a first-time appointment, contact nutrition@osu.edu to avoid completing the intake form again.
  • If you have questions or difficulty finding a day and time for your appointment, email nutrition@osu.edu.
  • Full-time faculty/staff, including those who are taking classes, are encouraged to use their Ohio State health insurance to meet with a dietitian.
  • Appointments are available via Zoom for students enrolled at Ohio State's regional campuses (Marion, Mansfield, Newark, Lima and Wooster) and while away from Columbus campus for other circumstances (e.g., semester abroad, summer at home, internship out of state).
