Love Your Body Week

What is Love Your Body Week?

Love Your Body Week is a university-wide collaboration to promote body acceptance and positivity at Ohio State. This week of events is devoted to educating, celebrating and creating a sustainable and supportive campus environment for all body types and experiences. Throughout the week, events will take place all over campus covering topics such as self-expression, fitness, body dysmorphia and eating disorders, media representation and influence, embracing your body and creating a culture of positivity.

Love Your Body Week is open to all students, staff and faculty. Whether you are new to the body positivity movement or are a dedicated advocate, we encourage you to attend at least one event this week to enhance or strengthen your body image, learn more about resources and gain skills to support our community.

Love Your Body Week programs, workshops, events, and resources will be offered to:

  1. Foster a more positive body image
  2. Raise awareness of support resources both on and off campus for eating disorder treatment and recovery
  3. Create a supportive campus community for all body types and experiences through informed and inclusive strategies
  4. Educate the community on weight stigma, body size discrimination, and fatphobia, and strategies for combatting each
  5. Recognize and honor the diverse experiences of others, including BIPOC individuals, gender minorities, and men

 

After attending Love Your Body Week 2022 sessions, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify strategies to foster a more positive body image
  2. Identify support resources both on and off campus for eating disorder treatment and recovery
  3. Create a supportive campus community for all body types and experiences through informed and inclusive strategies
  4. Learn and define weight stigma, body size discrimination, and fatphobia, and strategies for combatting each
  5. Learn and appreciate the diverse experiences of others

 

When is Love Your Body Week?

Love Your Body Week 2023 is February 19 - 26, 2023.

 

How can you get involved?

Thank you for your interest in participating in Love Your Body Week! The submission form for Love Your Body Week 2022 is now closed. Any individuals, organizations, or departments interested in participating in Love Your Body Week 2023 can email Jordan Helcbergier. The program submission form for Love Your Body Week 2023 will be available in Setpember 2022.
