5 Ways to Create a Safer Campus Environment

Staff and Faculty:

  1. Understand your responsibilities as a mandated reporter and know about the independent confidential resources on campus that are an alternative to you for those who want to seek help outside of the traditional reporting space. Please view the handout on your right to learn more with the Duty to Report Flowchart provided by The Office of Institutional Equity for staff and faculty.

  2. If you find yourself being harmed, please know there are resources for you as staff and faculty. You can find assistance through EAP services and SARNCO.

  3. Add a blurb to your syllabi to help share information about confidential and non-confidential resources on campus. Please review the syllabus resource from The Office of Institutional Equity on the right for more information.

  4. Invite the Student Wellness Center into your classrooms to provide presentations on healthy relationships, sexual violence prevention, body image, and sexual health, among many other topics! Learn more about your options here

  5. Attend our Red Zone Micro Series to learn more about how to support students, yourselves, and the campus through bystander intervention practices.
